Circumnavigation of Crater Lake
This past February
Carrie and I embarked on an attempt to circumnavigate Crater Lake on
cross country skiis. We are both more or less beginners on this form of
travel which made for lots of excitement and long travel days. Based on
our time constraints and the unknown ahead we chose to not make the
entire circumnavigation and instead travel out and back. We went on a
long ski the second day instead of continuing around the lake. The weather was
mostly beautiful with decent snow and sunny winter days. The nights
were cold and the trip certainly turned out to be an adventure. We were
very worn out after the trip. In all we probably traveled around 30
miles. The circumnavigation itself is about 33 miles.
